You will need a little more muscle to juice carrots if carrots are hard but the work is worth the juice you receive. You get what you pay for is very real with juicers. I have been juicing for more than 10 years and have graduated from centrifical force juicers to masticating to the Green Power. It is everything it says it is. My family juices daily. This juicer is definitely quieter than all other juicers we have used. The juice has less pulp than other juicers we have used as well a better tasting juice (even with mediocre carrots). Cleaning the juicer is the easiest of all juicers we have had. (That's worth the extra bucks). If you're a serious juicer go to the top of the line. You won't be disappointed.

I had a juicer previously that cost over $200 and was terrible, and I was hesitant to spend so much again and not be satisfied so I opted for this one as it is a low price and the reviews were good. I have grown to really like this unit. It is a snap to put together and is very quiet when in use. I also like that you do not have to chop the fruits and veggies into small pieces as it has a large input hole. I typically juice 1/2 cucumber, one apple, 2 celery stalks and 1/2 lime or 1/2 lemon, and sometimes add some ginger or cilantro. The clean up is easy if you do it right away. I immediately add all parts to a sink of hot soapy water and clean after disposing of leftover pulp. I have had this machine for a month at the time of this review.
